Major Nelson has confirmed that the Xbox 360 dashboard will be getting an update today (Wednesday 19th January). The update is obviously mandatory, and re-enables the “Boot to Disc” option in the dashboard’s settings. The last update in-avertedly nullified the feature that allowed 360 consoles to boot to the game in their tray when they were turned on.

Furthermore, there will be an update for Xbox.com on Thursday 20th January. That will basically change the look and feel of the card (see above), with “gamerzone” now banished. Other than that, it looks pretty much the same as we have now, just not as old-fashioned.
