SEGA has announced they will be releasing a video game tie-in for the upcoming Thor movie, as decreed by the Gods. As you would expect, it’s going to be a third-person adventure game for all five major platforms. It’ll be released in summer 2011. Lead Thor comic book author Matt Fraction will be on-hand as a story consultant. The Mjolnir hammer will be taking its pride of place in the game and will be infused with the powers of wind, thunder and lightning. You’ll be able to upgrade Thor by earning Valor throughout the game, too.

“We are proud to be bringing Thor to his first solo video game adventure” commented Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA America. “Thor: The Video Game will finally bring the immense power of this iconic hero to lifelong fans, and introduce the God of Thunder to a whole new audience as a true Marvel Super Hero.”
