EA and Crytek have today announced that Richard Morgan will be penning the story of Crysis 2. He is best known for his science-fiction books ‘Altered Carbon’ and ‘Broken Angels’. Crysis 2 focuses on New York becoming under attack from aliens, with players tasked with stopping them in order to save the city.

“Video games are one of the only things in my life I would qualify as a complete addiction,” said Richard Morgan. “The medium has every bit the potential for exciting and emotionally charged storytelling as literature and film, and I’m excited to explore this format on my first project in partnership with a world class developer like Crytek.”

Crysis 2 will hit this Christmas on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
