Rare senior programmer Nick Burton has told Official Xbox Magazine that the company will be redesigning the Xbox 360’s “Avatars” to be more Kinect-friendly. Apparently, the current Avatars have cartoony proportions that some users didn’t feel comfortable with. A number of players couldn’t co-ordinate their moves with the characters on-screen.
Rare designed the Avatars back when Microsoft released the “New Xbox Experience” dashboard for the Xbox 360 back in 2008. Burton has called the new design “Avatar 2.0”, and said that they will be a part of an Xbox 360 Kinect update to be released at some point in the future. We’ll bring you some images of them when Microsoft makes things official.
