Warner Bros announced that the upcoming reboot of Mortal Kombat has officially gone gold for its April 19th release in the US and April 21st in the UK. Led by co-creator Ed Boon the game is looking to reinvent itself in the fighting genre and take us back to the original days of the Mortal Kombat series. The game is driven by an all new graphics engine, and the Fatalities are back along with a few new gameplay elements. Many of the iconic characters in the series will be making their return along with a few new additions.

The game will hit store shelves for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
