In a weird move today, Epic Games and Microsoft have decided that Gears of War 3 isn’t going to make its originally planned release in April 2011. Instead, the game will now be released in Fall 2011 “to make it the marquee title for the holiday season” (as quoted by the game’s PR team).

So if Gears of War 3 will be the marquee title of the Fall rush, that leaves us with very little hope for next year’s E3 on Microsoft’s side.  Sony and Nintendo could pack a few surprises up their sleeves to capitalise on Gear’s delay.
