D3 has revealed a follow up to Earth Defense Force 2017. It will be called Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon and will be released on the PS3 and 360 in spring 2011. Insect Armageddon will see players protect the streets of New Detroit from a new invasion of alien bugs. Just like its predecessor, you will be able to team up with a friend to take on the giant insects and blow stuff up.

Vicious Cycle (responsible for Matt Hazard) has taken over development duties from 2017’s Sandlot. Expect to see new things like three-player online co-op for the main campaign and a Survival mode, where up to six players have to fight against an endless onslaught of those pesky alien bugs.
