Capcom have confirmed that Dear Rising 2: Case Zero will be released on 31st August on Xbox Live. It will set you back 400 Allards. Case Zero is a prologue to Dead Rising 2, and it introduces new main protagonist Chuck Greene. The story is set two years after the original Dead Rising but three years before Dead Rising 2. Chuck and his daughter are trapped in Still Creek, with zombies sticking to the area like shit to a blanket. Basically, Case Zero is a demo you have to pay for.

Fortunately though, the player levels, prestige points and combo cards earned during playing it will carry over to Dead Rising 2 when the game’s released for the 360 on 1st October. It will also be released on the PC and PS3, but those platforms won’t be getting Case Zero.
