Bungie has detailed four new modes for the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta for when it launches on 3rd May:
Headhunter – Free for all mode where players have to collect skulls from killed opponents. Players have to take the skulls back to a moving deposit zone in order to score. You can carry multiple skulls, but if you get killed before depositing them, you will drop them all. Other players in the game will be able to see how many skulls you have, and if you have more than ten you develop a flashing star over your head. This will attract everyone a lot of attention so it’s recommended you run and score at that point.
Stockpile – Neutral flags appear across the map randomly, with teams having to grab them and take them to their capture points. You’ll only be able to score once a timer counts down every 60 seconds. Any flag in the capture zone at the end of the countdown will be added to the score, even if it’s carried by an opponent.
General Defence – Specifically designed for the Overlook map, this mode focuses on three Elites trying to destroy three generators. The generators are defended by three Spartans. The mode is split into two five-minute rounds, with the teams switching in the second round. Power weapons such as the Spartan Laser and the Rocket Launcher are dropped in randomly during the match.
Invasion – Specifically designed for the Boneyard map, this mode focuses on vehicle combat between two teams of six.
