At New York Comic Con this year, I was treated to a behind closed doors preview of an eyes-only session for Max Payne 3. This was an eyes-only presentation showed off on the Xbox 360. Max Payne 3 features a whole new experience for gamers, and picks up where Max Payne 2 left off. Max is still haunted by the traumatic events of his past. I am first shown an   Read More ...

Here we go again, new season, new game, and from what I have seen so far, a whole new football gaming experience. One week away from release and it’s the word ‘new’ that is a daunting one here. Yes we love the updated teams, players and graphics and whatnot, but with the majority of the big changes made to the actual gameplay mechanics, should we be biting our nails at   Read More ...

The gaming world at large has adopted the Assassin’s Creed games as the de-facto modern action adventure sandboxes they are. We have followed the series with great interest, and even though there has been numerous sequels we are still terribly excited by this year’s entrant into the series; Revelations.

Over the last year details on Modern Warfare 3′s multiplayer has been a bit of a mystery and Activision has had yet to reveal any detail. Now, we have a full length trailer for you to feast your eyes on. The new trailer details some interesting perks and kill streaks for you to earn this go around. It should turn your 5 minute gaming session into 5 hours or more.   Read More ...

The Uncharted series has been one of the major PlayStation titles since it launched back in 2007. Nathan Drake has become synonymous with the PlayStation brand and is an award-winning series. The game is set to release on November 1, 2011 and focuses on Nathan Drake’s relationship with his old pal Sully as they go on another adventure to find a lost city. The city in question is the obsession   Read More ...

The Gears of War series was the premiere console series, launching exclusively on Xbox 360 back in 2006. The series has since then been a landmark in cover-based third person shooters and was a pioneer in Epic’s Unreal Engine the game is developed from. Since then the Gears of War franchise has spawned comic books and novels all considered cannon in the ongoing Locust war. As the COGs are fighting   Read More ...

Over the last few seasons, EA Sports has continually been innovating its NHL series with each new release. This is no different this year as EA Sports brings in over 300 gameplay refinements concentrating on three key features, Anticipation AI, Full Contact Physics Engine, and Dynamic Goalies.  Continue reading below for our full preview of NHL 12.

English indie development outfit Raw Games is developing The Spire for the PC. Normally we don’t just post random stuff like this, but we feel the game looks pretty swish so it should be brought to your attention. It’s a first-person adventure game set in a mysterious facility in the Antarctic, using the Unreal Engine.   You play as a man who’s lost his memory (conveniently). He wakes up to   Read More ...

Much has been said about Sony’s first party PS3 games. Some have been a bit hit and miss, while others have emulated the company’s success from the PS2 era. Increasingly, their new efforts seem to be falling in the latter category and gamers are profiting from delightful experiences that push what the system can offer. Even though the majority of them are sequels (at the moment), they are performing well   Read More ...

The Metroid series has always been one of Nintendo’s major hardcore gaming pillars. It has followed the company from platform to platform, stopping off on the GBA for a few titles and really came into its own during the Prime saga on the GameCube. Prime was my first entry into the series, and it was perfect to introduce new players such as myself. Retro Studios understood our mindset and made   Read More ...

When we went to Nintendo last week, Wii Party was not on our main list to play. However, after grabbing some Nintendo-made OJ and saddling up some seats, we settled to try it. All three of our epic staff members were perched around their delightful cubes, accompanied by their Wii-motes (including wrist straps for all) and the game begun. This is where something we didn’t plan for happened: we actually   Read More ...

As you may know already, we’ve visited Nintendo this week and now have a great deal of content to give to you. We’re trickling some hands-on reports throughout the week (news is a bit average this week to be honest) for your reading pleasure. Now, let’s talk about something that’s dear to all our hearts: Super Scribblenauts. Sat alone at its own DSi XL unit at the Nintendo event like   Read More ...

Our dear Jereme has already previewed Epic Mickey but when Nintendo invited us to go and play lots of cool stuff with them, we were able to get our hands on the game itself for a much longer time period. After a mammoth talk and introduction from a designer on the game (whom was a rather nice chap), we managed to get Mickey under our control.   Let’s get the   Read More ...

Nintendo invited the UK’s media to come and play lots of exciting things yesterday. We were invited, and to kick off our coverage of what we got to have a look at is the Nintendo 3DS.  When Nintendo first announced the device, people were left scratching their heads. A 3D based gaming system that didn’t require glasses was too much for some to take, with most people wondering if they   Read More ...
