Sony has announced a new Twisted Metal game for the PS3 at their E3 Press Conference. The game is in development over at Eat Sleep Play, David Jaffe’s new company. It’s a regular Twisted Metal game with a single player campaign and various multiplayer modes. Speaking of which, the multiplayer supports up to 16 players online (as well as 2-4 player split-screen) across the usual array of Twisted Metal vehicles (cars, motobikes) as well as a helicopter.
It also has the usual modes you would associate with the multiplayer side of games in the series, such as deathmatch. They showed off a new mode called “Nuke” at the conference, where gamers gather into two teams and have to destroy the opponent’s statue before they take down yours. The build on show was fairly early, but it looked fun to play. The game is set to be released in 2011.
