Sony has announced that its first 3D television, the Sony HX803 will usher in 3D gaming on the PS3 when it is released in June. The company said: “Timed to complement the launch of the HX800, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will release four 3D stereoscopic PS3 game experiences through the PlayStation Network, available as a free collection to purchasers of BRAVIA 3D TVs.”
The games the company are talking about are Wipeout HD, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD. The 3D collection will be redeemable through a PSN voucher code, and will need players to purchase their own stereoscopic 3D glasses. It is assumed the firmware update required to make the PS3 output in 3D will be released around this time.
