Indie PC title Minecraft has managed to rack up over one million sales. The game’s creator Markus “Notch” Persson announced the number on his blog. He has made a lot of money from the game apparently. One million people have paid €10 each to play the game, and with no publisher in the way to bloat proceedings he can afford to support Minecraft. What’s more, he’s opening up his own studio and recruiting in order to make some more games.
Notch has recently had to up the price of Minecraft to €14 in order to fit his plans and keep the game’s current rate of expansion. Minecraft is now in the beta stage. Gamers who purchase it will get free updates for the rest of the game’s life, so those of you that got it for €10 were lucky. Still, we think it’s worth €14 and is quite possibly one of the best games of 2010.
