EA has announced a last minute open beta for the PC version of Medal of Honor. The purpose of this beta is to “clear up any misunderstanding” about the game’s Afghanistan setting. This beta will begin on 4th October and will close on 7th October. It includes two maps: Kunar Base, a Selector Control map and Shahikot Mountains, a Combat Mission map. Both support two teams of 12 players.

“We hope that by offering the multiplayer open beta, we can clear up any misunderstanding about the patriotism and respect that are the foundation of this game,” said EA Games boss Frank Gibeau. “The Medal of Honor franchise has always shown extraordinary reverence for American and Allied soldiers – this game is no exception.”

Medal of Honor will be released on 15th October for the PC, PS3 and 360.
