Nintendo has revealed that the Nintendo DS has sold 128.89m units. The DS sold 27.11, units in the last fiscal year that ended on 31st March 2010. This figure surpasses the Game Boy’s lifetime sales, which reached 118.69m.The Nintendo Wii has sold 70.93m units, with 20.53m of those sold in the last fiscal year. This figure surpasses the NES’ lifetime sales, which reached 61.91m.”This is the largest cumulative unit sales performance for console hardware in our company’s history,” said Nintendo.
Software sales have also been good for the company, with Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver selling 8.4m units, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks selling 2.61m units and Japanese exclusive Tomodachi Collection clocking up 3.2m units. Wii Sports Resort sold 16.14m units, Wii Fit Plus sold 12.65m and New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 14.7m.
