THQ has announced that de Blob 2: The Underground will be released in spring 2011 on the DS, Wii, PS3 and 360. The 360 and PS3 versions will support 3D. de Blob 2 doesn’t seem to do much different than the original but that’s not a bad thing. We found bouncing around the city and splashing paint everywhere to be a surprisingly jovial affair. It definitely relieved some work-related strain and helped chill us out.
The sequel will feature a robot sidekick called Pinky, and there will be co-op and competitive multiplayer alongside the usual single-player fare. Don’t expect it to be the last 3D game we hear about this week by the way, we’ve heard that THQ has some other 3D stuff to show us at this year’s E3.
