In September of 2009, Movie Gallery who is the parent company of Game Crazy made the decision to close 200 of its 680 under performing stores. Many believed that was the end of line and Game Crazy continued to linger on. However, during a conference call at the beginning of this month, Movie Gallery announced they will be closing the remaining number of their stores in a matter of 2 weeks. Only 250 stores remained open in the US after the company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2010.
