Ilomilo is a weird game. It comes across as this odd cutesy thing with bizarre-looking characters an odd gameworld and nothing more. The presentation is muddled up in its own rubbish and it doesn’t offer the best of first impressions. Despite this, what lurks beneath the ridiculous aesthetics and the “plot” (one dude wants to meet another for some afternoon tea) is a cheeky little puzzler.

Capcom has slapped a date on Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. It will be released on the PlayStation Network on 1st February in the US and on the Xbox Live Arcade on 2nd February. The PSN version will cost $14.99 and the XBLA release will set you back 1200 Allards.
Microsoft has announced that the 2011 Xbox Live Arcade House Party promotion will be starting on February 16th. It will include the new Beyond Good & Evil HD revamp, Hard Corps Rising, Bejewelled Blitz, Full House Poker and Torchlight.
Atari has announced Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale for the PC, XBLA and PSN. It will be released in spring 2011 and is currently under development at Bedlam Games. Expect lots of the usual fantasy stuff (Realms under attack by some evil dude) and a multiplayer mode that has a “riveting” narrative apparently.
Not content with the astronomical sales of Black Ops, Activision and Treyarch have announced the first map pack for the game; First Strike. The NPD Group has found that 29% of games purchased in the last three months were done so digitally. 47% of the digital buyers the group surveyed said they purchased their games from services like Steam. 42% bought their games through app stores or mobile phone carriers and 30% used console services like Xbox Live. Criterion has announced Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit’s first premium downloadable content pack. It’s called the Super Sports content pack and adds three new supercars: Porsche 911 GT2 RS, GUMPERT Apollo S and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. EA has announced that FIFA Ultimate Team has managed to generate a crazy £28.5 million for EA. Moreover, the PSN and XBLA FPS Battlefield: 1943 has made £10 million after Sony and Microsoft took their cut. EA CFO Eric Brown revealed the figures at the 38th Annual Media and Communications Conference. “We see people spending $500, $600, $700 on digital card packs to play Ultimate Team simulation mode,” Brown said.

Konami has confirmed that the PS3 version of X-Men Arcade will be released two months after the 360 version. The XBLA release will be hitting Europe and the US on 15th December (next Wednesday). The PSN release is currently pencilled in for a rather vague “February”. It’s not currently known how much the game will cost. X-Men Arcade is a port of the original multiplayer focused X-Men arcade title.
