Batman: Arkham City will hit store shelves in North America October 18th. Australia on October 19th, along with Europe and all other territories on October 21st for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Epic Games has announced that the Bulletstorm Epic Edition will be exclusive to GAME and Gamestation in the UK. The two chains are owned by the GAME Group, thus the edition is allowed to be sold across both stores. The main selling point for the Epic Edition is an invite to the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta. Oddworld Inhabitants has announced a HD remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. HMV and GAME have slapped a £229.99 price point on the Nintendo 3DS, with them both also pricing games at an astonishing £39.99 (the same as PS3 and 360 games in the UK). The news follows the Nintendo Europe 3DS conference, where the big N failed to announce a price and left it up to the retailers to determine how much it will cost in Europe. Activision has recommended that Bizarre Creations should be closed, saying that they have tried to sell the studio but haven’t been able to find a way to offload it. Activision Worldwide Studios’ COO Coddy Johnson today said that Activision tried to sell the struggling developer to “pretty much anyone you can imagine in the industry” and were now left with closing the studio, which they admitted was their “last resort”.   Read More ...

2K Games has finally slapped a release date for Top Spin 4 in the UK. It will be released on 18th March, a few days after the US’ 15th March release. It’s been nearly three years since the lost Top Spin game, with this one featuring players from the old days as well as the new legends. Andy Murray has been confirmed too.

HMV have confirmed that they will be leaving 60 UK stores this year in an attempt to cut costs. This follows a 12.9% reduction in like-for-like sales for the five-week Christmas period. HMV blamed weak underlying entertainment markets and the crazy weather for the poor sales. Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold two million copies in UK shops in just one week. Earnings from those sales total £81.9 million. Black Ops sales were 13% higher than Modern Warfare 2’s, with it making 21% more money. Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 5.6 million copies in the US and the UK combined in one day. That’s more than Modern Warfare 2’s record of 4.7 million copies in the same regions and timeframe. Black Ops sales generated $360 million for Activision. The BBFC has officially slapped an 18 age rating on Call of Duty: Black Ops. That’s the same as Modern Warfare 2 and everything else in the Call of Duty franchise so we doubt it’ll affect sales much.
