Turbine has announced that The Lord of the Rings Online has doubled its revenue since it was re-launched as a free-to-play game last month. It has got a million new account registrations since the re-launch. Also, 20% of lapsed players have returned to the game. MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons Online will become free-to-play in Europe from next month. Folks over in North America have been playing the “Unlimited” free-to-play version for a while, but now it’s officially going to be free in Europe. European players can play the game with the US servers right now to get a sneaky peak at what it’s like. Turbine will be taking control of European operations from Codemasters Online.
According to a game listing on the Twisted Pixel website, the developers have been helping Turbine develop a “top secret” console MMO.
