Another delay is incoming from Sony, and this time its regarding the upcoming release of Motorstorm Apocalypse. LG has been granted a preliminary injunction that is stopping imports of the PS3 into Europe. Shipments of PS3s are currently being seized by European customs officers as LG’s injunction against Blu-ray technology seeks to block Sony products from sale. Polyphony Digital has announced that Gran Turismo 5 has shipped 6.37 million units as of December 2010. 3.97 million of those were shipped to Europe, with 1.58 million going to the US, 600,000 to Japan and 230,000 to Asia. 63.15 million Gran Turismo games have been shipped in the series’ lifetime, with Gran Turismo being the best-selling title of the series with 14.89 million shipped.

Sony has confirmed that they will be cutting off PSN access to gamers that have hacked their PS3s. What’s more, users will be blocked from Sony’s new Qriocity music service: the same service that Sony is moving all their iTunes content to. Here’s Sony’s official statement on those pesky hackers:

Sony Ericsson has finally officially confirmed the Xperia Play. After months of leaks (going all the way back to last August!) and some hands-on previews as well as an advert during for it during the Super Bowl, Sony has decided to make it official. The device will have Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, Qualcomm Adreno 205 graphics and a 4 inch 854×480 multi-touch LCD screen.

Sony has officially announced all of the non-secret trophies for Killzone 3. The full list is available after the jump, minus the 20 secret trophies that we will have to discover for ourselves apparently.  

Guerrilla Games has announced that the Killzone 3 beta has had 58 million kills across 350,000 games. Half a million users have appeared on the game’s leaderboards. Sony has confirmed what maps are in the Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack. It contains Salamun Market and Blood Gracht. Salamun Market is a huge map designed for up to 24 people. Its back-story details the Helghast ambushing an ISA convoy on the main road and vicious fighting quickly spread to the market district. Blood Gracht is smaller and supports up to 16 players. Sony has confirmed that their game division managed to make a profit of ¥45.7 billion (£348m/$564m) in the third quarter that ended on 31st December. The company believes that the sales of PlayStation games and the cost reductions on the PlayStation 3 hardware heavily contributed to the profit. However, sales did decrease 6.4% year-on-year but Sony believes they will sell more PS3s this financial year than the previous one. They   Read More ...
