According to inside sources, online games development and publishing outfit K2 Network has purchased the All Points Bulletin IP from the administrator handling the Realtime Worlds financial train-wreck. K2 Network is based in California, and is responsible for the free-to-play service GamersFirst. They spent £1.5 million for the APB IP. Current rumours suggest that the company will re-release the game as a free-to-play title.

The administrators handling Realtime Worlds will not be offering refunds to players who bought copies and subscriptions of APB. The MMO is now closed, after just two and a half months online. Steam also isn’t giving out refunds either. Troubled developer Realtime Worlds has lifted the lid on some APB stats as administrators try to entice a buyer for the studio. The stats confirm that APB has 130,000 registered players, and the average player plays for four hours a day. The administrators dealing with the collapse of Realtime Worlds have officially confirmed that they will be keeping 23 out of 60 members of staff working on Project MyWorld. Scottish studio Realtime Worlds has entered administration. The business has already been handed over to its new administrator, corporate rescue firm Begbies Traynor Group. The company now has a deadline to find an investor that can stop the firm from going into liquidation. It’s thought that their recent game; All Points Bulletin, was to blame.
