Nintendo has confirmed plans to ship 4 million Nintendo 3DS’ worldwide by the end of March. 1.5 million units of that total will be going to Japan, whereas the rest will be heading to North America and Europe. Launch details for those territories will be unveiled on 19th January.
Nintendo has confirmed that US customers picked up a lot of their products during the Black Friday week (November 21-27). Internal estimates say that they managed to sell 900,000 DS units (that figure is across all models of DS) and 600,000 Wiis. Halo Reach has become the biggest-selling game in North America this year. It managed 3.29 million sales by the end of September, which is double what Halo 3: ODST sold in the same period (1.52 million) but equal to Halo 3 (3.3 million). US videogaming retail chain GameStop has purchased Kongregate, a flash gaming website. Kongregate attracts about 10 million users apparently, and GameStop plans to use them to strengthen its digital platform. We’re not sure what else the company has planned as of yet.
