The NPD Group has unveiled the monthly sales figures for December 2010 (software sales are after the break). Here are the hardware numbers: Nintendo DS – 2.5 Million (-24%) Wii – 2.36 Million (-38%) Xbox 360 – 1.86 Million (+42%, best ever sales by 420k units) PS3 – 1.21 Million (-11%)

Nintendo has confirmed that Pokémon Black and White have now sold over 5,036,724 copies in Japan. It is one of just five DS titles to ever reach this milestone, and has done it the fastest in only 17 weeks. Warner and TT Games have announced LEGO Ninjago: The Videogame for the DS. It’s a sequel to LEGO Battles, so expect a real-time strategy title here. The NPD Group has unveiled the monthly sales figures for November 2010 (software sales are after the break). Here are the hardware numbers: Nintendo DS – 1.5 Million (-11.8%) Xbox 360 – 1.37 Million (+68%) Wii – 1.27 Million (+0.8%) PS3 – 530k (-25%)

Chart Track has confirmed that 32.4 million consoles from this generation have now been sold in the UK. That figure encapsulates 360, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS sales. This new total is based on sales ending 4th December 2010. It is 5.2 million larger than last year’s total, but surprisingly it represents the slowest growth for a couple of years. Nintendo has confirmed that US customers picked up a lot of their products during the Black Friday week (November 21-27). Internal estimates say that they managed to sell 900,000 DS units (that figure is across all models of DS) and 600,000 Wiis. Should these numbers prove to be true, the NPDs will be pretty interesting for this month.

Disney has confirmed that the next major license to be given the LEGO makeover will be Pirates of the Caribbean. The game will be released on the DS, Wii, PC, PSP, PS3 and 360 in May 2011 to coincide with the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film – On Stranger Tides.
