Kmart blog, My Kmart, revealed the latest in retail offerings for the upcoming handheld launch of the Nintendo 3DS. With every in store purchase of the system at $249.99 you’ll be able to save $25.00 USD off any launch 3DS titles ($29.99-$39.99). Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released in June for the 3DS. He didn’t confirm whether that was a worldwide date or just for North America during his Game Developers Conference keynote. “Last year marked the 25th anniversary of Super Mario, this year it’s the 25th of Legend of Zelda,” said Iwata.

Nintendo head honcho Iwata-San today announced a brand new 3D Mario game. It will be released on the Nintendo 3DS, and is currently in development at the same team that developed Super Mario Galaxy (plus its sequel). The world will be in full 3D and apparently tails will be a big part of the game. The Tanooki suit has been confirmed to return too.

Nintendo hero Shigeru Miyamoto has announced that he is working on Super Mario Broz. for the Nintendo 3DS. Miyamoto unveiled the game in a new Iwata Asks interview on Nintendo’s official website. He said: “In the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system.”

Capcom has confirmed that Street Fighter IV 3D Edition lets you send a versus demo of the game wirelessly to a friend. They can then use that to play versus matches without the full game. Apparently, it will use both Nintendo 3DS Download Play Support and the 3DS’ Street Pass function to send a cut down version to other 3DS’ and fight them. HMV and GAME have slapped a £229.99 price point on the Nintendo 3DS, with them both also pricing games at an astonishing £39.99 (the same as PS3 and 360 games in the UK). Ubisoft has announced their 3DS launch window line-up. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took to the stage at Nintendo’s European event to confirm the eight titles that Ubisoft will be releasing between March and the end of June:   Rayman, Splinter Cell, Combat of Giants: Dionsaurs 3D, Asphalt 3D, Rabbids 3D, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, James Noir’s Hollywood Crimes and Driver Renegade.

Nintendo has unveiled that the 3DS will get some 3D video content from EuroSport, Aardman Animations and Sky in Europe. Sky will be releasing some short 3D clips for the device, with EuroSport doing some 3D sports highlights and Aardman doing some 3D short episodes of Shaun the Sheep. Nintendo is working with other partners for special video content too.

Nintendo is finally starting to put an end to the friend code nonsense they started on the DS with the 3DS. They announced today at their US and European conferences that the system will have one universal friend code that will work across all games. Nintendo Europe has unveiled that the 3DS will be released on March 25th at their European press conference just now. That’s a full two days before the system is launched in the US. They purposely didn’t unveil the system’s price, and are apparently leaving it up to retailers to price the console so expect a very high cost. Square Enix has given Kingdom Hearts 3DS an official name: Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. We are honestly not making it up; they are genuinely releasing a title with that name. We know they’re trying to be clever with the three Ds, but it doesn’t really roll off the tongue.
