We saw this whilst making the usual rounds across our favourite websites and we thought we had to share. Be sure to watch the entire video, including the ever-so soppy ending. We can assure you it presents a feeling women undergo when watching a romcom (apparently). If you follow the watch on YouTube link you can even go and play the level. We wouldn’t condone modding it further for   Read More ...

Sony has confirmed that they will be cutting off PSN access to gamers that have hacked their PS3s. What’s more, users will be blocked from Sony’s new Qriocity music service: the same service that Sony is moving all their iTunes content to. Here’s Sony’s official statement on those pesky hackers:

The strangely sizeable Xbox 360 dashboard update we all got yesterday that re-enabled the “boot to disc” option also introduced some new anti-piracy measures. Essentially, the update blocks certain backups/pirate copies from booting at all on certain drives. Specifically, the games protected by this include Halo Reach, Call of Duty Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. What’s more, when users try to load these backups on the new dash it   Read More ...

Sony has broken their silence over the recent hacking of their PlayStation 3. The company were remarkably quiet after the system’s security measures were completely defeated this week. Hackers have now got complete control over the system, and can sign their own software as genuine. Despite the system crumpling to the hackers and the groups obtaining the security keys, Sony has issued this nonsensical statement:

Sony has made sure all new PS3 titles ship with PSJailbreak-blocking firmware on the disc. This strategy was unveiled by the PS3 version of Medal of Honor, which comes with firmware 3.42. Said firmware takes down the USB exploit that allows folks to “jailbreak” their PS3s and use them for homebrew or piracy. If you buy new games with this firmware included, you have to install it or you won’t   Read More ...

Sony has released a new ‘mandatory’ firmware update for the PlayStation 3. Entitled “3.42”, the update adds “additional security features” according to Sony. If gamers don’t update, they will not be able to access the PlayStation Network unless they play around with a proxy server bypass (and that will only last until Sony clamps down on it again). Homebrew/backup fans across the internet have confirmed that the patch currently stops   Read More ...

Treyarch has announced that they will be releasing some mod tools for the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops after the game’s released. PC players will also be able to get their hands on the developer console, for extra tinkering. Black Ops will be released on 9th November for the PC, PS3, 360 and Wii. “We plan to open the game up for modding sometime post-launch. We do   Read More ...

A USB modchip for the PS3 has been developed by a Chinese firm, called “PSJailbreak”. It allows games to be dumped onto the console’s HDD and external drives and allows you to play them without the original disc. Apparently the device can work on all PS3 models and supports the current PS3 firmware. The PSX-Scene team have verified the product and famed Australian mod-shop OzModChips has posted some videos of   Read More ...
