Blizzard’s internal numbers have confirmed that they have sold 4.7 million copies of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in one month. That’s more copies in one month than any other PC game. Sony Online Entertainment has slapped a 14th January 2011 date on PC and PS3 superhero MMO DC Universe Online. It’ll be released on 11th January in the US, if you’re that way inclined. CCP has unveiled the patch notes for EVE Online’s winter expansion, Incursion. The patch makes some player-requested changes, as well as the usual array of fixes and netcode improvements. Codemasters has confirmed that the European free-to-play re-launch of The Lord of the Rings has been delayed. Apparently, the reason for its delay is so that Codemasters can prepare for what they assume will be a “massive increase” in players. Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be going into open beta early September. The closed beta has been going on for a while, but that will end on the 25th August to make way for the hordes. The full game will be released at the end of September. Sony Online Entertainment has announced House of Thule, the 17th expansion pack for EverQuest. It will be released on 12th October and increases the level cap to 90. House of Thule will also add player houses and lots items to chuck in them. There will also be 18 new Raids, 13 zones, more than 450 new spells, 17 new missions, an inventory increase and 120 quests.

Atari and Cryptic have released Season Two of space MMO Star Trek Online. They’ve also cut the price of the game to $19.99.
