Epic has officially lifted the lid on Infinity Blade, the first iPhone game to run on the Unreal Engine. SEGA has slapped some dates and prices on Sonic 4: Episode 1. The game will be released on the iPhone on 7th October; PSN and XBLA on 13th October; and the Wii on 15th October. It will cost £10 on the PSN, 1200 Allards on Xbox Live and 1500 Wii Points on the Wii.

Apple head honcho Steve Jobs has confirmed that Epic Games is working on their first game for Apple platforms. He was joined on stage at Apple’s press conference by Epic president Mike Capps today to show off “Project Sword”. id Software technical director John Carmack has unveiled a tech demo of Rage running at 60fps on iPhone during his keynote at QuakeCon 2010. It took Carmack two weeks to get the demo up and running. Arguably the most loved and critically admired of the 1990’s graphic adventure game boom, Monkey Island 2 has received a make-over for the 21st century.

EA has announced EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp. The game is coming out for the Wii on 16th November, but there are Kinect, Move and iPhone versions in development. Apparently Training Camp was made with the help of real-life NFL coaches. It has 70 drills and challenges to improve strength, power and conditioning, according to EA.

It is being reported today that the Walt Disney Company on Thursday has officially acquired Application developer, Tapulous in a non-disclosed deal. Tapulous for those who don’t know is a start-up company that develops music based game applications for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Hulu has finally announced that Hulu Plus is coming to the PS3 in July and the 360 in early 2011. The $9.99 a month service is already available on the PC (preview invitation only at the moment), iPhone (as well as the iPod Touch and iPad thanks to the new Hulu Plus app) and other devices. Apple has announced that they have sold more than 1.7 million iPhone 4s between the 24th and 26th of June. However, the devices are marred by a signal problem. If users try to grip the phone in their left hand and cover up the bottom left hand corner with their palm, the 3G and Wi-Fi antennas are joined up by conductive skin and the signal reception goes a bit odd.   Read More ...

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions will be released on the iPhone and iPod Touch on 15th September. The company hasn’t confirmed how much it’ll cost, but the game has appeared before: it was the 2007 PSP remake of the original Final Fantasy Tactics.

Zynga has released FarmVille for the iPad and iPhone. Previously, the supposedly addictive game was confined to Facebook and the rest of the web. It’s available for free on the App Store, and allows people to carry on their farm from their account or start a new one. Some items are exclusive to the normal web version, and others are exclusive to the App.
