EA has announced Madden NFL 3DS. It’s their first game for the new handheld and will be accompanying the 3DS’ launch in the first half of 2011. The 3DS is currently down for a March release in the US and Europe, so expect it around then. EA has confirmed that they have been cooking away on a new patch for FIFA 11. It will be released on 12th November on the PS3 and 17th November on the 360. The patch will make the offside rule more accurate, improve shooting from weak volleys and eliminate “micro-pausing” amongst other fixes. The fixes will span across all of the game’s modes. EA has confirmed that they have cancelled NBA Elite 11. The franchise will continue to exist though, with EA Tiburon taking over development duties from EA Canada. In other news, the company recorded a loss of $134 million over the last financial quarter (from July 1st until September 30th). Net revenue was at $884 million, which is down $250 million from the same period in 2009.
EA has announced that FIFA 11 Ultimate Team will be released on 3rd November on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. If you are already a FIFA Ultimate Team player you can start early by logging on to the official site from yesterday. Returning players will get two free gold packs to help build their teams before it launches.
EA has dated the PS3 and 360 versions of NBA Jam. The title that was originally supposed to be given away with NBA Elite 11 will now be getting a full release on November 17th in North America and November 26th in the UK. Demos for FIFA 11 and PES 2011 have been released today. Both demos are available on the PC, PS3 and 360. The 360 demos are exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members. The FIFA 11 demo features Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyonnais. EA has announced that a demo for EA Sports MMA will be released on September 28th on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network. EA has unveiled their Q1 2010 financial results for the period ending 30th June. FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010 has sold three million units so far, helping net revenue to get to $539 million. EA Sports has announced that NBA Elite 11 on the 360 and PS3 will include download codes for NBA Jam. The publisher hasn’t confirmed plans to release Jam separately on the XBLA or PSN yet, but it doesn’t look likely. EA has released a demo for Madden NFL 11 on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It’s available for all Xbox Live regions and clocks in at 1.47GB. We’re not exactly sure what the demo contains, but expect to see new game features like a new playcall system, quicker games, dual stick control and the ability to create custom game plans.
