EA has announced that a PC version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo will be released on 1st March. The demo will be available from the Crysis 2 website and includes two maps and two modes. Both modes offer six versus six matches. The two maps are Skyline and Pier 17, which were in the 360 demo. The two modes are Team Instant Action and Crash Site.

Crytek have confirmed the minimum PC system requirements for Crysis 2:

* Internet connection required for activation

* OS: XP/Vista/Windows 7

* CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 x2 2 Ghz or better

* GPU Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB of memory or higher; ATI/AMD Radeon 3850HD 512Mb RAM or higher

* Memory: 2 GB of RAM

* Hard Drive Space: 9 GB

* DVD-ROM with 8x speed

* Audio: DirectX9c compatible

* Keyboard, mouse or Xbox 360 controller for Windows

EA has announced that they will be releasing a PC demo of Crysis 2. The announcement follows PC gamers moaning that the demo was previously exclusive to the Xbox 360. Crysis was previously a PC exclusive series and we guess PC gamers wanted their loyalty repaid.

We enjoyed the 360 demo, even though having just one map does get a bit stale. The game sort of feels like a more enjoyable version of Black Ops, with special powers and a fun jumping mechanic. Crytek are releasing a patch to deal with the random disconnects and screen freezing in the 360 version.

Demos for Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 have now been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Bulletstorm demo clocks in at 1.08GB, and is due to be released on the PlayStation Network tomorrow. It features the Echo mode; a co-op mode that tracks and compares player scores while people play through campaign locations. The Crysis 2 multiplayer demo is exclusive to the 360, and that comes in at a respectable 1.80GB. It features the Skyline map and two game modes: Team Instant Action and Crash Site.

Crytek have announced that a multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 will be released exclusively on the Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday 25th January. Quite why a previously PC-exclusive franchise is getting a 360 exclusive demo is beyond us, but there we go. The content of the demo hasn’t been confirmed yet, but that trailer up there might be some indication. Crysis 2 will be released on the 360, PS3 and PC on March 25th.

Crytek has announced that Crysis 2 will be released in North America on 22nd March and Europe on 25th March 2011. EA delayed the game earlier this month, shifting it from holiday 2010 to Q1 2011. No one has said why it’s been delayed yet, but we’re guessing it’s to give Crytek some additional polishing time or to get the game out of a competitive Christmas gaming meltdown. The game will launch in 3D on the PC, PS3 and 360.

EA has announced that Crysis 2 has been delayed. The game will now be released between January and March 2011. We haven’t been given any reason why the company has delayed the game, but it’s currently rumoured that Crytek were waiting for PC hardware manufacturers to catch up.  Regardless, it will be released on the PC, 360 and PS3 eventually, and will support 3D.

A German website has leaked details of a Crysis 2 limited edition bundle. Webhallen.com was the original source of the info, but has removed it. Fortunately, PlayFront.de managed to get a glimpse of the pack. The pack is called the “Nano-Edition”, and includes a nano-suit backpack (46cm x 24cm), a 20cm Prophet statue, a 176 page art book and a steel-style game box. It also includes some online things such as immediate access to higher ranks, unlockable items, an exclusive dog tag, a SCAR hologram and a weapon skin. Unfortunately, the price is a rather high €158. That equates to £130.

Crytek took to the stage to show off some new gameplay from Crysis 2 at EA’s E3 Press Conference tonight, and boy it was something. There was explosions, chaos, carnage, people flying everywhere, dudes going invisible and the Metlife building got destroyed. The game is looking stunning and we can’t wait to give it a bash when it comes out this autumn. Here’s the trailer:

Microsoft has announced that Crytek is developing an exclusive new game for the Xbox 360. At the moment it’s called “Codename Kingdoms”. We’re not sure if that genuinely is its name or if it is indeed a codename, but that’s what it’s going by right now. It looks like it’s going to take place in ancient Rome or some other place with old-school gladiators.
