2k Sports announced today that the new cover guy for next years MLB 2k12 release is Detroit Tigers pitcher, Justin Verlander. Since Borderlands 2 was announced by Gearbox Software not too long ago, we finally have a sneak peak into the teaser trailer itself. If you like dual-wielding guns and mechs, then you’ve come to the right place. Borderlands 2 will release in 2012.

2K Games and developer Digital Extremes brought The Darkness 2 to this years E3 this past week and with it came a brand new trailer which you see above. Look for The Darkness 2 this fall on October 4th.

2K Games has released a new “Come Get Some” trailer for Duke Nukem Forever today, which you can see above. We really cannot wait to get our hands on the finished copy, based on our experiences playing it at various press events. We’ll push a review out around the game’s supposed June 10th international release and the June 14th US release.

Gearbox has unveiled that Duke Nukem Forever will be released on 3rd May in the US, and the 6th May for the rest of the world. 2K Games has finally slapped a release date for Top Spin 4 in the UK. It will be released on 18th March, a few days after the US’ 15th March release. It’s been nearly three years since the lost Top Spin game, with this one featuring players from the old days as well as the new legends. Andy Murray has been confirmed too.

Take-Two Interactive has announced they have managed to make profits of $42.5 million for the twelve months ending October 31st 2010. What’s bizarre is that the publisher sustained losses of $140m over the same period last year. Civilization V has made history by becoming the first videogame to be nominated a Grammy Award. Composer Christopher Tin received the nomination for the Baba Yetu track. It’s featured in Civ V’s opening theme and includes the Soweto Gospel Choir. The nomination is for the “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists” category. 2K Games has released some new maps for Civilization V. There are new maps based on the Americas, Asia, Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean. They are all £2 each on Steam, or you can buy them all as part of the Cradle of Civilization Map Pack Bundle for £6.30.

2K Games has confirmed that Mafia 2’s third DLC add-on will be released on 23rd November. It’s called “Joe’s Adventures”, and will set you back 800 Allards on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Those of a PlayStation Network or PC disposition will have to cough up $9.99. The DLC puts players in control of Joe Barbaro, Vito Scaletta’s best friend as he bumbles about doing naughty business.

Since the beginning, the Civilization series has always been about strategy, skill building and most of all: world domination. 2K Games has confirmed that those who buy or have brought Borderlands through Steam will get a demo key for Duke Nukem Forever. Steam Borderlands owners will get access to the DNF demo at the same time as Borderlands GOTY owners. Gearbox still hasn’t slapped a specific date on the demo, but expect it in 2011 before the full game’s release.
