LG has been granted a preliminary injunction that is stopping imports of the PS3 into Europe. Shipments of PS3s are currently being seized by European customs officers as LG’s injunction against Blu-ray technology seeks to block Sony products from sale. Texas publisher Devolver Digital has announced that Serious Sam 3 will be released on the PC, PS3 and 360 this summer. Apple has officially confirmed that they will be having an iPad 2 event next week on Wednesday March 2nd. It will all be going down at 6pm GMT (10am PST). The event takes place in San Francisco at the Yuerba Buena Center for the Arts, which is relatively close to where the Game Developers Conference will take place next week.
Epic Games has officially announced the release date, originally supposed to be this Spring, then delayed for Fall 2011. The game will now launch worldwide on September 20th exclusively for Xbox 360. Polyphony Digital has announced that Gran Turismo 5 has shipped 6.37 million units as of December 2010. 3.97 million of those were shipped to Europe, with 1.58 million going to the US, 600,000 to Japan and 230,000 to Asia. 63.15 million Gran Turismo games have been shipped in the series’ lifetime, with Gran Turismo being the best-selling title of the series with 14.89 million shipped.

Ubisoft has today announced that they are releasing some new DLC for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood on the 360 and PS3. It’s called “The Da Vinci Disappearance” and will be available in March 2011 for 800 Allards. It includes both single-player and multiplayer content. As you would expect, the single-player mode deals with Leonardo Da Vinci getting kidnapped by the Hermeticists. They’re an underground cult dedicated to transforming mankind apparently. EA has announced that a PC version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo will be released on 1st March. The demo will be available from the Crysis 2 website and includes two maps and two modes. Both modes offer six versus six matches. The two maps are Skyline and Pier 17, which were in the 360 demo. The two modes are Team Instant Action and Crash Site.
Ubisoft has finally given a release date for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood on the PC. It will be released on 18th March. The USA and some EMEA countries will get it a day earlier. There won’t be any special PC-exclusive goodies, but there will be multi-monitor display support and stereoscopic 3D output. Also expect improved shadows, reflections, environments, character details and an improved draw distance.
SEGA has announced that PC strategy title Total War: Shogun 2 will get a demo next week. The demo has one campaign map when it hits on 22nd February. The full game will be released on 15th March, if you’re in to that type of thing.
