Bethesda has slapped some release dates on their 2011 releases. Splash Damage’s Brink will be released in the US on May 17th and in Europe on May 20th. Nintendo has released a new financial report, detailing the Wii and DS’ total sales to date. As of 31st December 2010, the DS (all models) has sold 144.59 million units globally and the Wii has sold 84.64 million units globally. Nintendo believes they can shift four million 3DS systems by the end of March and 15 million game sales in the same period.

A kind individual has uploaded a video from Sony’s PSP2 conference in Japan last night. It showcases the system and has a few clips from some games. We especially like the drama from the Killzone clip and the DS-style gimmicks in the Uncharted one.

Sony has today officially unveiled the “PlayStation Suite” for Android. Users will be able to play PlayStation content on an open operating system for the first time in PlayStation history. Sony will be starting a “PlayStation Certified” license program for hardware manufacturers to get in on the action. Sony will provide development support as well as logo licensing to “ensure the delivery of the PlayStation quality experience across various devices”.

Sony officially announced the PSP2 last night at their Tokyo conference. Whilst the PSP2 name wasn’t officially unveiled, they have slapped a codename of “Next Generations Portable” on it and unveiled its impressive specs. Capcom has announced that MotoGP 10/11 will be released on 18th March in Europe. There will be a demo of the game released on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace before then in February. The demo lets gamers play as Danny Pedrosa and Andrea Davizioso on the Mugello track. It has both Championship and Time Trial modes, too.

Sony has released a new patch for DC Universe Online on the PC and PS3. It fixes some voice chat issues and some other glitches. Sony has updated their hardware to make voice chat suitable even during peak hours. Here’s the full list of things apparently fixed in this update:

BioWare has confirmed that they are investigating the PS3 Mass Effect 2 save-game corruption bug that makes saves unplayable. Sony has announced that they will be releasing a single-player demo of Killzone 3 on 16th February. The demo includes the Icy Incursion level that takes place roughly halfway through the game’s campaign. PlayStation Plus members can download the demo a week early on 9th February. EA has announced Dead Space 2: Severed. It’s the first DLC pack for Dead Space 2, and adds two standalone chapters to the single-player game. The protagonists for Severed are Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock, the two main characters from Dead Space: Extraction. Characters control Weller, a Sprawl Security Guard. BioWare’s Dragon Age 2 has 103 minutes of cutscenes, according to the BBFC. The ratings board gave the game an 18 rating, and didn’t cut out any content. Apparently it has all the blood and gore from the original and then some. When we played it, we enjoyed seeing our blood-soaked characters talk to folk like nothing’s wrong in cutscenes; something that has also continued from the original.

Treyarch has released an update for the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. What’s funny about this patch is that it comes on the same day as Gamers’ Voice reported Activision UK to the Office of Fair Trading over the “never-ending list of problems” with the game. Demos for Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 have now been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Bulletstorm demo clocks in at 1.08GB, and is due to be released on the PlayStation Network tomorrow. It features the Echo mode; a co-op mode that tracks and compares player scores while people play through campaign locations. Rockstar has officially dated L.A. Noire. It will be released in the US on May 17th and in the UK on May 20th. The notorious developer also released a new trailer for the game, which you can see above. Apparently, it was made entirely from in-game footage.
