Oddworld Inhabitants has announced a HD remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. Microsoft has cancelled the free Xbox Live Gold weekend for most of Europe that was due to take place this weekend. The promotion was announced earlier this week. Nintendo has unveiled some sales data for their 2010 games, with Donkey Kong Country Returns being a stand out surprise in the mix. The game managed to achieve a high 4.21 million global sales. Kirby’s Epic Yarn managed to get 1.38 million sales in Japan and the US so far, which is pretty good considering is yet to be released in Europe. Nintendo has announced a new Wii Kirby game that looks like the previously unreleased Kirby Adventure for the GameCube. Nintendo has announced a new Wii title called Pandora’s Tower. It’s not currently known what the game is all about, and the teaser website doesn’t really help either. All it shows off is an image of a woman with a tattoo. The game will be released in Japan this spring, and a western release hasn’t been confirmed yet. It has the subtitle “Until I’m by your side again”.

GAME has confirmed that they will be closing 19 of their retail stores. They haven’t announced which ones are getting the chop and when yet, but the move is part of a strategy that will see a total of 85 shops shut down over a three-year period. GAME has opened/relocated shops in the past nine months but dropped 25 stores that were in Debenhams.

Maxis have slapped a date on PC title Darkspore. It will be released on 29th March. The game is an action RPG that melds together Spore and the action/grinding elements of Diablo. It has Spore’s customisation engine, as well as four player co-op and competitive multiplayer too.

EA has announced that they will be releasing a PC demo of Crysis 2. The announcement follows PC gamers moaning that the demo was previously exclusive to the Xbox 360. SEGA has announced that they have delayed The Conduit 2 to 22nd April. The game was previously down to be out on 18th March. The Conduit 2 has had an unfortunate history of delays, with the title being pushed back from October last year to February 2011 to introduce new content and fix up the game from fan feedback at E3. SEGA and PlatinumGames have confirmed that the game announced for Japan as “Max Anarchy” yesterday will be coming to the west as “Anarchy Reigns”.
