Team Meat has confirmed that they will be releasing a patch for Super Meat Boy in January. The update will be free on the PC, but we don’t know if it will hit the 360 or not. Regardless, it has a level editor, an online level portal, something called Super Meat World and Enter the Unknown.

Konami has announced two new downloadable add-ons for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow that will be released early next year. Both feature new areas, monsters and new story lines. Reverie plumps players in role of Gabriel at the Castle to help Laura destroy some dodgy evil that was normally stopped by the recently killed Queen. Treyarch has announced that they have released a new patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. It’s called patch 1.05, and expands the game’s capability to open NATs on routers among improving party reliability. Patch 1.04 caused widespread carnage, causing the game to go crazy and disconnect gamers all the time during matches that could’ve decided life or death.

EA Partners has announced that they will be publishing Portal 2 on the PC, Mac, PS3 and 360 in shops on 21st April 2011. Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops has generated more than $1 billion for Activision in just six weeks on sale. Players have spent a combined 600 million hours playing the game’s online multiplayer mode. Atari has announced Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale for the PC, XBLA and PSN. It will be released in spring 2011 and is currently under development at Bedlam Games. Expect lots of the usual fantasy stuff (Realms under attack by some evil dude) and a multiplayer mode that has a “riveting” narrative apparently.

EA has confirmed that there will be a Limited Edition of standalone title The Sims Medieval. It will be released alongside the game in May 2011 and features three exclusive themed throne rooms (Barbarian, Dark Magic and Princess). The sale of Rock Band developer Harmonix by Viacom has gone a bit dodgy thanks to Harmonix filing a lawsuit against their parent company. They allege that Viacom “diverted opportunities” from Harmonix for its own benefit so it wouldn’t have to pay out millions in performance-related bonuses. Cliff Bleszinski has announced that Gears of War 3 will have some special unlocks that will bring a smile to the faces of Epic Games’ fans. Sony Online Entertainment has slapped a 14th January 2011 date on PC and PS3 superhero MMO DC Universe Online. It’ll be released on 11th January in the US, if you’re that way inclined. Ubisoft has finally confirmed the highly-rumoured Splinter Cell Trilogy for the PS3. It includes HD versions of the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. It will be released sometime next year. The news follows the release of Ubisoft’s recent PS3-exclusive Prince of Persia Trilogy, which was released on Blu-ray and on the PSN in Europe with a £29.99 price point. It also included stereoscopic 3D support.

Dark Energy Digital has announced that they will be dropping a big update for Hydrophobia tomorrow (21st December). The update coincides with a permanent price drop from 1200 Allards to 800 Allards. They have also extended the trial if you want to play a bit of it for free. Sony has released a new patch for Gran Turismo 5 that clocks in at a crazy 608MB. It’s called 1.05 and is available to download right now. Polyphony Digital hasn’t specifically said what the patch includes yet, but early findings confirm that you can now remove the HUD, back up saves, take part in online events, use online car dealerships and have mechanical damage offline.
