Warner Bros has confirmed that FEAR 3 will be released on 22nd March 2011 in the US and on the 25th in the UK. The game will be released on the PC, PS3 and 360. FEAR 3 focuses on Alma’s two sons: Point Man and Paxton Fettel. One can do guns and time-slowing, whereas the other can do telekinetic weaponry.
Sony has confirmed that they will be taking the PlayStation Network down this evening from 4pm UK time until 12.30am. If you login before 4pm, you can still play online during the down time. Nintendo has confirmed that Super Mario Galaxy 2 has sold 5.1 million units worldwide. It looks like Pokémon Black & White will surpass it though, as that is already on 4.07 million units after going on sale in Japan last month. Wii Party has already sold a cool million too.
BioWare has announced that Dragon Age 2 will feature a downloadable content platform similar to the Cerberus Network in Mass Effect 2. It’s part of EA’s Project Ten Dollar plan, where those who buy the game brand new will get access to the bonus DLC. Those that buy the game second hand will have to pay to access the content system and ergo, the actual content.
EA has announced that FIFA 11 Ultimate Team will be released on 3rd November on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. If you are already a FIFA Ultimate Team player you can start early by logging on to the official site from yesterday. Returning players will get two free gold packs to help build their teams before it launches.
Treyarch has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will have split-screen options for its online multiplayer mode. It also has a custom game mode editor and sharing facility. There are more interface tweaks and functions too apparently. You can also search for games by regional matchmaking filters on a global scale and emblems won’t be reset when entering Prestige. XP, COD Points, Challenges and Loadouts will still be reset.
Valve has released a Halloween-themed update for Team Fortress 2. The update adds the first ever NPC in Team Fortress: the Headless Horsemann. The Horsemann is a randomly generated boss monster and appears in Mann Manor, a new attack/defend map scattered with exploding pumpkins. Sony has announced a PlayStation Rewards programme. Regular users will receive “exclusive status, recognition and rewards”. There are apparently three reward tiers: Select, Pro and Legendary. You can move up them by playing new games, buying PSN content, downloading movies and filling in surveys. EA has confirmed that DeathSpank and Shank have been released on the PC. They both cost £9.99 on Steam, and there’s a demo of Shank available to play around with. DeathSpank is an action RPG, developed by Ron Gilbert of Monkey Island fame and his merry men. Shank is a platform game with loads of blood.

Codemasters has revealed that the long-awaited patch for F1 2010 is in submission over at Microsoft and Sony. Our friendly Namco Bandai contact has sent word that a demo for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.
