Activision Blizzard has confirmed that more than 12 million people subscribe to World of Warcraft. EA and Hothead Games have announced that DeathSpank will be coming to the PC and Mac on 26th October. It will cost £9.99 in the UK, or £8.99 with a 10% pre-order discount offer. Previously, the game was only available on the PSN and XBLA. They were released on those platforms in July.

ZeniMax Media has secured another $150 million from Providence Equity Partners, to be spent on “increased game development”, “strategic acquisitions and “expanded publishing operating”. The company already own Bethesda, id Software, Splash Damage and Arkane Studios. Providence Equity Partners put $300 million into ZeniMax only three years ago. Epic Games has announced that there will be a multiplayer beta for Gears of War 3. The beta will hit some time in early 2011. Epic has confirmed that the beta includes dedicated servers for ranked and social matchmaking games, just like the full game (also announced today). Nintendo has announced that Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition will be coming to Europe on 3rd December, the same release date as Donkey Kong Country Returns. All-Stars was originally released on the SNES. It included the first three Super Mario Bros. games on the NES. Activision and Marvel have revealed this morning a new title in collaboration with each other called X-Men Destiny. The game will be officially unveiled on IGN today October 7th. We’ll, those guys over in the East continue to get more and more awesome stuff that us over here will never see stateside. Nintendo announced today that with Super Mario Bros anniversary this month, they will be releasing a special edition Nintendo Wii console to celebrate.
