Sony has lifted the lid about some upcoming 3D games at their E3 press conference. Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet 2, Twisted Metal, Motorstorm: Apocalypse and Sly Raccoon Collection are the first party titles getting the treatment of three dimensions. Sony has announced the dates and prices of the PlayStation Move. It will go on sale in Europe on 15th September and in the US on 19th September. The main Move device will cost $49.99, with the Navigation controller setting you back $29.99. You can get a Move bundle with the PlayStation Eye and a copy of Sports Champions for $99.99. Sony has revealed Patpon 3 in an E3 PSP montage at their E3 press conference. The sequel will be released between now and December, according to the introduction of the montage video. Not much is known about the game yet. It will join other PSP titles being released between now and December, with the list of these stretching to a solid 70 releases (according to Sony).

Sony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 finally has a release date. November 2nd 2010 is the date that the game will be hitting North American PS3s. Sony has confirmed that Killzone 3 will be touching down in stores in February 2011 with both Move and 3D functionality. The company showed some gameplay footage in 3D at their press conference in E3, and it looked awesome for alpha code. Sony has confirmed that they will be offering a premium version of the PlayStation Network. Called “PlayStation Plus”, it will give subscribers stuff like exclusive in-game DLC, free full games every month, early access to demos and betas and an auto-patching feature that will detect, download and install updates for you. Sony has announced a new Twisted Metal game for the PS3 at their E3 Press Conference. The game is in development over at Eat Sleep Play, David Jaffe’s new company. It’s a regular Twisted Metal game with a single player campaign and various multiplayer modes. Valve has announced that Portal 2 will be coming to the PlayStation 3 simultaneously with the PC, Mac and 360 versions in 2011 (that is the official logo up there by the way). This was the surprise the internet has been buzzing about for a while. Nintendo has confirmed that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is coming this holiday. It’s the same game that was talked about at last year’s E3, but with a new name. It will be released on the DS (not the 3DS), and has a top-down 3D look that’s similar to The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. Nintendo released a bit of a game changer, or what they referred to as a “bridge game”, to ‘bridge’ all demographics of gamers into the video gaming world. Nintendo has announced Mario Sports Mix for the Wii. It’s due for release in 2011, and includes sports such as beach volleyball, ice hockey and dodgeball. Mario and the usual gang (Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Peach, Luigi, etc.) return to play the various sports across different arenas. Here’s a trailer for the game straight from the conference:

Nintendo has announced Retro Studios is making Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii. The announcement was made at the company’s E3 press conference. The game’s due out this Christmas, and it’s a traditional 2D platformer. Donkey Kong is the main character, but Diddy can ride him piggyback across the jungle-themed levels so we’re guessing he’s going to come into the forefront at some stage of the game. To accompany the announcement of the 3DS, Nintendo also announced Kid Icarus Uprising. The trailer does not offer the full 3D experience that the game does, but it was still pretty epic. Nintendo definitely did a good job on this game. The trailer for Kid Icarus Uprising showed some fairly detailed characters and environments with some very impressive graphics for the system. In addition to some other really good announcements, it was nice to see Kirby making an appearance at this year’s E3. A new Kirby game for the Wii will be making it’s way here soon. The world in Kirby’s Epic Yarn looks as if it’s stitched together from scraps of fabric, while Kirby himself appears to be made of a curled-up strip of pink yarn.
