Konami has announced Saw 2, a sequel to the Saw title it released last year. Saw 2 will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this autumn. EA and Crytek have today announced that Richard Morgan will be penning the story of Crysis 2. He is best known for his science-fiction books ‘Altered Carbon’ and ‘Broken Angels’. Ubisoft have confirmed that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands’ release date has been pushed back a week. It will now be released on 21st May for all formats (DS, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360), with the PC version hitting in June.

A mistake made by the Xbox Live Spotlight team has unwittingly revealed that Gears of War 3 is coming April 11. A non-clickable tile in the Spotlight channel in the US Xbox 360 dashboard read “Gears of War 3 Announced” and “The epic story concludes April 2011”. The mistake has since been deleted. The Pokemon Company has revealed the next generation of Pokemon games: Pokemon Black and White. The games will be released on the DS in Japan this autumn, with other territories expected to get it in 2011. The official website states that “every aspect [of the series] will be reborn innovatively”, with more information to be released on 15th April.

Infinity Ward has announced that the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC will be coming to the PC and PS3. The maps will come to the PC on 4th May and on the PS3 on 5th May. The content is exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a month, and has had more than 2.5 million sales on that platform alone so far.

Majesco has confirmed that Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade and the PC. No release dates have been announced, but Steam has currently listed the PC version with an April 28th date. The game will feature co-op, a new deathmatch mode, capture the flag and survival modes. The BBC has announced Doctor Who: The Adventure Games for PC and Mac, with the first episode releasing June 2010. The games are being positioned as “interactive episodes”, and will be available for free on www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho for all UK residents thanks to the license fee.
